Documentation and dissemination of the history of Denmark in Greenland and the Arctic

Danish Arctic Institutes map collection is now partly registrered and scanned

Danish Arctic Institute’s Map Archive consists of about 5000 maps of many different sorts – from triangulation sketches, hand drawn maps and the first wave of printed maps to many series and types of printed maps, primarily from Greenland but also from the rest of the Arctic and some from Antarctica. As a part of the now (June 2019) completed first phase of the registration of the map collection about 1300 maps have been registered, the rest roughly registered and 500 large maps scanned. The rest of the collection will in time be registered and at least another 750 will be scanned.
